ODO Privacy Policy

ODO: PCP Mileage Tracker · Budtik Ltd · Effective 2 October 2026

The short version

Who we are

ODO is made by Budtik Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “Budtik” mean Budtik Ltd. You can contact us at hello@budtik.co.

Location

ODO uses your iPhone's location to measure how far you drive. It turns location on when a drive starts (for example when your iPhone connects to CarPlay) and off when the drive ends. Your location is used on your iPhone to add up the distance, and ODO saves the distance and the start and end times of each trip.

Drive maps. Unless you turn off Save drive maps in ODO's Settings, ODO also saves the route of each drive it logs, so you can see the drive on a map. Routes are kept on your iPhone. ODO doesn't sync them to iCloud and never sends them to us, though like the rest of ODO's data they're included if you back up your iPhone itself. You can delete all of them at any time in ODO's Settings.

To draw a map and name the areas a drive started and ended in (such as "Hammersmith"), ODO uses Apple Maps. Like any app that shows a map, this sends the area being shown, and the start and end points of the drive being named, to Apple, which handles them under its own privacy policy. ODO keeps the area names with the trip. Your location is never sent to us.

ODO asks for “Always” access so it can log a drive when CarPlay connects even if the app is closed. You can change this at any time in the Settings app under Privacy & Security → Location Services → ODO.

Your trips and settings

ODO stores your trips, your PCP agreement details (such as your start date, allowance and odometer readings), the name of your car, your preferences and, unless you turn them off, your drive maps on your iPhone.

If you leave Sync with iCloud on, ODO also keeps a copy in your private iCloud database using Apple's CloudKit, so your trips and agreement survive reinstalling the app and appear on your other devices. Each trip's details are included, with the names of the areas it started and ended in; drive maps aren't. This copy is held by Apple in your iCloud account and is only accessible to you. Budtik cannot access it. You can turn sync off in ODO's Settings at any time.

CarPlay and your car

ODO reads the name and identifier your car reports through CarPlay so it only logs drives in your car. These stay on your iPhone and in your private iCloud.

Notifications

ODO's notifications (milestone alerts, the monthly summary and reminders) are created on your iPhone. No information is sent to us to deliver them.

Purchases

ODO Plus subscriptions and the one-off purchase are processed by Apple through the App Store, under Apple's terms and privacy policy. We don't receive your name, email address or payment details. Apple provides us with anonymous, aggregated sales reports.

Contacting support

If you email us using “Email support” in the app, your email opens with some details that help us look into a problem: the app version, your iOS version, a few settings (such as your location permission and tracking period) and a short log of what ODO did around recent drives. You can read, edit or delete any of this before you send it. We use what you send only to help you, and we delete support emails when they're no longer needed or when you ask us to.

What we don't do

Children

ODO is intended for drivers and isn't directed at children under 16.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR) you have rights over your personal data, including to access and delete it. Because your ODO data is held on your devices and in your own iCloud, you control it directly:

For anything else, including data in a support email, contact hello@budtik.co. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

If we change how ODO handles data, we'll update this page and the date above, and mention significant changes in the app's release notes.
